Juan Valverde, CFI  is a speaker and LATAM Director for Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates, Inc. (WZ). He speaks trilingual Spanish, English and Portuguese.
 

Juan obtained an MBA in International Business from Arkansas University in partnership with the Universidad de Mexico. Prior to joining WZ Juan worked as the Loss Prevention Director with Rent-A-Center de Mexico, based in Monterrey. He managed a team of four regionals, a security specialist, and an LP analyst, oversaw 177 stores, three distribution centers, and the corporate offices.

Valverde has extensive experience in loss prevention. He has managed store security, including CCTV, alarm systems, cash collections, guards, preventive measures, and executive protections for the corporations he worked. He has ensured that proper security measures are set for all new stores and has provided training for new employees. He also worked for AMNET Cable and Internet Service, SYKES Latin America, AutoZone de Mexico. He was the Loss Prevention District Manager for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. International at Global Procurement in Costa Rica and moved from that position to Ethical Standards Regional Manager Latin America for Wal-Mart.

His personal experience provides a comprehensive understanding of the Latin American culture along with his extensive understanding of interview and interrogation skills.

Juan is a Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI). To qualify for this distinction, a person must pass a standardized examination, which covers a series of topics regarding the interviewing and interrogation process. The CFI demonstrates an understanding of the legal aspects of interviewing and proficiency in interview preparation, behavioral, analysis, accusatory and non-accusatory interviewing, documentation, and presentation of findings. The objective of this certification program is to create comprehensive, universally accepted professional standards combined with an objective measure of an interviewer’s knowledge of those standards.
