The Level I – WZ Seminar on Investigative Interviewing Techniques is designed for anyone seeking a strategic, non-confrontational approach to resolving cases and gathering actionable intelligence. Participants learn to conduct effective, ethical interviews that uncover factual information while reducing liability and strengthening trust.
This course emphasizes the importance of rapport and provides a comprehensive overview of WZ’s evidence-based interviewing methods, teaching participants how to apply these tools in conversations with witnesses, victims, and subjects. Participants will gain adaptable strategies that can be tailored to the evidence, the subject, and the type of interview being conducted.

Amanda Weaver, CFI, PHR
Amanda Weaver, CFI, PHR, is an Investigations Manager and Instructor with Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates (WZ), bringing more than two decades of private-sector investigative and leadership experience. Throughout her career, she has held various leadership roles across a variety of investigative functions, supporting organizations nationwide and guiding teams through complex workplace challenges.
Her professional background includes nationally recognized retailers such as Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, Border’s Bookstores, Victoria’s Secret, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Kohl’s. Amanda’s experience spans specialty, luxury, department store, omnichannel, and supply-chain retail operations. Her areas of expertise include internal and external investigations, employee and labor relations, loss mitigation, threat assessment management, function specific training, and strategic planning.
At WZ, Amanda leads training and consulting initiatives centered on ethical, research-supported investigative interviewing practices that support organizational values and principled, people-centered workplace culture. Her approach emphasizes collaboration over confrontation in the information-gathering process. Known for her ability to connect with diverse audiences, Amanda brings intention and purpose to every learning environment she facilitates.
Amanda is a Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and a Florida Licensed Private Investigator (FL#C3300346). She is affiliated with the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Behavior Threat Assessment & Management and Violence Risk Assessment (BTAM/VRA) Committee. Amanda has presented at national and regional industry events, including NRF Protect, the International Association of Interviewers, HR Star, various Organized Retail Crime Association conferences, and the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators and her professional writing has been published in Loss Prevention Magazine and the CFInsider Journal
