Thomas R. Masano, CFI, retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving his
country for 20+ years, of which the last eleven years were spent as a Special
Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). As a Special
Agent with OSI, Mr. Masano was responsible for conducting felony criminal,
fraud and counterintelligence investigations in support of the U.S. Air Force
and the Department of Defense. His last four years were spent as an instructor
with the U.S. Air Force Special Investigations Academy located at the Federal
Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Brunswick, Georgia. His primary
areas of instruction were interviews and interrogations, investigative process,
report writing, and characteristics of evidence. During his tenure as an instructor,
he trained nearly 1000 students preparing to become Special Agents. Prior to
becoming an instructor at FLETC, Mr. Masano served his country conducting
investigations around the world to include Okinawa, Guam, Japan, Thailand and
the United States. His work and travels with the Air Force found him in other
places as well to include: Germany, Jordan, Hawaii, Korea, Saipan, Texas,
Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland. As a Special Agent and since being employed with Wicklander-Zulawski
& Associates, Inc. Mr. Masano has
conducted thousands of interviews and interrogations, as well as countless
seminars for both the private and public sectors.
Mr. Masano has a Master of Arts degree in Security Management from the American
Military University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from
the University of Maryland, graduating with honors. Certificates earned
include: Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), Occupational Instructor,
Academic Instructor, Advanced Firearms and Judgment Instructor, and Tactical
Baton Instructor.
